Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) – There are up to 988 study hours for this course (including Vocational Placement), depending on your industry experience and relevant knowledge. You may work at your own pace as an online training student and complete your course faster if you’d like!

Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community) – There are up to 948 study hours for this course (including Vocational Placement), depending on your industry experience and relevant knowledge. Online study means students can work with their own schedule and complete the course sooner.

Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) – There are up to 1,035 study hours for this course (including Vocational Placement), depending on your industry experience and relevant knowledge. Online course students can work with their own schedule and complete their training faster.

Certificate IV in Disability – There are up to 990 study hours for this course (including Vocational Placement). These can depend on your industry experience and relevant knowledge. Online course students can work through the course at their own pace, and complete this disability support course as fast as they like.

Certificate IV in Ageing Support – There are up to 1228 study hours for this course (including Vocational Placement), depending on your experience in the aged care industry. You may work at your own pace and online study means students can complete their course as fast as they like to!

What evidence can I submit if I want to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning for a course in aged care and disability?

If you wish to apply RPL for qualifications in aged care and disability, the examples of acceptable evidences are the following:

  1. Course transcripts, statement of attainment, and certificates
  2. References and documentation of your previous work responsibilities
  3. Work samples

To apply, simply indicate on your enrolment form that you wish to receive RPL. An RPL Assessor will contact you to check your eligibility for each unit and explain what you need to submit. The amount of RPL you receive will depend on the evidence you provide and any remaining assessment can be completed through gap training.

Is vocational (work) placement required, and where should I get a placement?

All students are required to complete Vocational Placement to help you develop your skills and knowledge in caring for elderly and/or disabled individuals.

To finish a qualification in aged care or disability, you will need to arrange your placement with a registered and approved aged care, home and community, disability, or community service provider — and undertake a minimum of 120 hours and a maximum of 240 placement hours.
