The Diploma of Accounting not only fulfils the major education requirements to become a registered BAS Agent (practically essential for anyone wanting to take on more senior roles in the bookkeeping industry or start their own contract bookkeeping business) it also meets one of the major minimum training standards for Tax Agent registration!

You will be able to open up a whole new world of opportunity when you can legally prepare and lodge personal tax returns, business tax returns and provide a whole range of tax-related services!

Requirements to Study the Diploma of Accounting Course

The Diploma of Accounting has a number of pre-requisite units. If you have completed your Certificate IV in Accounting or Certificate IV in Bookkeeping course, you should have completed the pre-requisite units to study the Diploma. You may even be eligible for RPL for some elective units! Enquire today to find out.

If you have no previous training in accounting or bookkeeping, don’t worry! You can study the required units from the Certificate IV in Accounting as part of your Diploma qualification. Simply make sure you choose the “Diploma + Pre-Requisite Units” option when you enrol. You will have extra time to complete the additional units.

As always, you need to be 18 years or older and have year 10 English and Maths (or equivalent) to study the course.

Further Education After the Diploma of Accounting

The Diploma of Accounting course is nationally recognised and accredited. Many universities will grant you credits towards an undergraduate degree in a similar area once you have your Diploma.
