  1. Blended Delivery

    The blended-delivery Diploma VET (TAE50111) course offers a 5 day online workshop available throughout Australia, including major cities like Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. During this week you will complete the majority of projects required for the ‘Design’ aspect of your course. Workshops are offered on various dates throughout the year.   2. Online Learning

    We also offer the Diploma Vocational Education and Training (TAE50111) through Online Learning. This way you can start your course as soon as possible, and study at your own pace. This highly effective method of delivery is extremely popular and you will be supported during your studies by our experienced and talented vocational trainers. Inspire has a continual intake of students on this basis.

NOTE: New learners and enrolees for the TAE50111 must successfully submit all assessment requirements on or before 6 September 2017 in order to be eligible to gain this qualification. The TAE50111 will no longer be issued after 5 October 2017 as it will be superseded by the TAE50116.

What Will You Learn in the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50111) course?

This Diploma training qualification incorporates core competencies such as designing and developing assessment tools, learning strategies and learning resources, and organisational training needs analysis. You will also develop abilities in areas like e-learning, advanced assessment practice, advanced facilitation practice, professional practice and addressing language, literacy and numeracy.

Completing this course requires extensive access to learners and training environments. It is recommended that you be working in training or have extensive access to learners and training environments.

Course Structure & Outline

The TAE50111 is a nationally recognised and accredited Australian training and education course. It is an ideal way to develop your training career if you are involved in analysing training needs, designing training programs to meet the needs of learners and workplaces, and evaluating the effectiveness of your training solutions.

Expected Study Hours: The TAE50111 Diploma course has an expected study time of 1222 hours.

Assessment Methods: The TAE50111 Diploma course is assessed using written questions, reflection, projects, written activities, observation, case studies and by gathering documents.

TAE50111 Units

The TAE50111 is comprised of 10 units – 6 core units and 4 elective units. Our elective course units have been carefully chosen to ensure they meet the needs of a wide range of advanced vocational education roles.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisite units required to study this TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training course.

However, it is strongly recommended you have a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus vocational experience OR extensive vocational experience in training and assessment roles in an RTO or similar organisation focusing on competency-based training and assessment.

It is also required that you:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English and Maths, or equivalent)
  • Have basic computer skills

To complete your studies you will need to have access to:

  • A Computer (PC or Mac) with Internet (ADSL 2+ and Google Chrome is recommended)
  • Latest Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Acrobat Reader (Essential for Mac Users)
  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 97 or later
  • Webcam and USB Headset to participate in webinars – Optional
  • At least 15 participants for facilitation practicum (minimum 100 hours)
  • At least two e-learning delivery platforms to conduct 2 e-learning sessions (minimum of 3 participants per session).
  • Learners with LLN needs, an LLN specialist and LLN evaluation tools
  • At least 2 trainers/peers who conduct training for professional development tasks
  • A minimum 50 units of competency completed by minimum of 20 candidates
    Note: This may include previous student assessment if assessment sessions were appropriately documented.
  • Training Facilities to conduct sessions
  • Video recording equipment OR a Trainer/Assessor with the following units/qualifications to provide third party observations:
    • TAEDEL501A and TAEDEL502A
    • TAELLN401A or TAELLN411
    • Authorised training supervisor with experience and relevant training qualifications

NOTE: Due to the large number of industry relevant practical assessment tasks, it is strongly recommended you either be currently working in a training role within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector or have extensive access to VET learners and training environments when studying towards this qualification.

Qualification Pathways

After completing your TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, you could also develop your ability to manage training related projects with the BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management.

Our TAE50111 + TAE50211 Double Diploma course is delivered online via self-paced learning and is comprised of a total of 10 units – 9 core units and 1 elective. These units cover the core competencies across both of the TAE Diploma qualifications. The Double Diploma course has an expected study time of 1222 hours.
