Cert IV WHS BSB41415 Course units

The Perth Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety course (BSB41415) is comprised of 10 units – 5 core units plus 5 elective units. This workplace health and safety course is now the minimum requirement for OHS safety officer duties and management in many workplaces and is designed to enable participants to contribute to an organisation’s OH&S Management Systems.

Core Units include (5 total):

BSBWHS402 – Assist with compliance and WHS laws
BSBWHS403 – Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
BSBWHS404 – Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
BSBWHS405 – Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
BSBWHS406 – Assist with responding to incidents

Electives (complete 5 of 5):

BSBCMM401 – Make a presentation
BSBRES401 – Analyse and present research information
BSBWHS408 – Assist with effective WHS management of contractors
BSBWRT401 – Write complex documents
BSBRSK401 – Identify risk and apply risk management processes


There are no formal prerequisites required to undertake our Perth Cert IV in Work Health and Safety course, however it does require that you have sound language and literacy skills, and basic to medium computer and word processing skills.
