What Will you Learn in Inspire’s Cairns Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety Course?

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is one of Australia’s leading WHS qualifications, designed to teach you essential skills you can use to participate in the creation and maintenance of WHS management systems in the workplace.

The Cairns workshop for the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is designed to meet the needs of health and safety professionals and those with significant safety responsibilities in many sectors; including business, government, charities and public services like police and the defence forces. It can open new doors and increase the range of employment opportunities available to you, or it can help you develop new competencies to increase your ability to perform in your current role.

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety supersedes the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) course. The new qualification has been designed to reflect the changes to WHS brought about by the Model WHS Act which has now been implemented in most jurisdictions across Australia. The Cert IV in WHS is Nationally Recognised and Nationally Accredited and is suitable for people working in all Australian states and territories.

Cairns Cert IV WHS Course Outline & Structure

The course will cover core Australian health and safety principles including  implementing and maintaining WHS management systems, assist with responding to incidents, assist with effective WHS management of contractors and implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes. It will also develop your “soft” skills such as writing complex documents, making presentations and analysing and presenting research information to help you be more effective in the workplace.

The workshop structure of the Cairns course will help you complete a significant portion of the training upfront, in an intensive, five day classroom-style environment. You will have a trainer available each day to lead, instruct and explain each component of the course covered in the workshop. After the workshop, you’ll have another 6 months to complete the remaining assessment items via online/distance learning. You’ll enjoy access to the full range of online resources and trainer support that all Inspire Education students are entitled to use.
