Course Delivery and Duration: Inspire offers TWO delivery options for you to undertake your Cert IV in TESOL …

  1. Online Learning
The most effective and popular method of delivery is through Online Learning. This way you can start your TESOL course as soon as possible, and study at your own pace. You will have 12 months to complete the course from your enrolment date through online learning. Inspire has a continual intake of students on this basis.
  2. Blended Delivery
The blended-delivery TESOL course offers a 5 day face-to-face workshop run in many major Australian cities throughout the year. During this week you will complete the majority of projects required for the course, and will have 6 months to finish the remaining assessment tasks at your own pace via online learning and practical placement. Workshops are offered on various dates throughout the year.

During your studies, you will be required to organise and complete at least 6 hours of practical delivery with a minimum of four ESL (English as a Second Language) students.

Nominal Hours:  There are a total of 214 nominal hours for this course. This equals approximately 4 hours of study per week for the online 12 month course, however you may work at your own pace and complete your course faster if you’d like!

Assessment Methods:  Assessment is conducted using a combination of written questions and activities, document gathering, and observation to give you maximum opportunity to develop your English teaching skills and knowledge.

TESOL40649SA Course units

Core Units include (5 total):

AABBH – Design and deliver an ESL teaching program
AABBK – Design and develop an ESL learning framework
AABBM – Plan an integrated lesson using communicative language teaching methodology
AABBL – Identify and use basic grammatical concepts and traditional meta language

Course Clustering: Our Cert IV TESOL course design uses a “clustered” approach. This means we have combined our course into just three workbooks: Knowledge; Design; and Delivery (instead of 5 separate units). This holistic approach means that our students are able to study at a good pace and gain an understanding quicker because learning and assessment tasks are not duplicated across multiple units.
