This Diploma of Childcren’s Services CHC50908 course will provide you first-class training and student support while you undertake your advanced training in the child care. Course units

The Diploma of Children’s Services is comprised of 13 core units, and 5 electives. It is Australia’s respected, nationally recognised and accredited Diploma qualification in child care.

During the course of your studies in the Diploma of Children’s Services you will gain up to 368 hours (128 in first year, 240 in second year) workplace-based experience to solidify your practical experience and skills in working in early childhood education. This advanced child care course has been specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to work safely and effectively with young children, providing an opportunity for those with a passion for our youth to take a leading role in the care of children in a child care or other children’s services environment.

More specifically, students undertaking Diploma of Children’s Services training are normally wishing to become a Supervisor, Coordinator, Manager, Director, or Group Leader in a Childcare Centre, or work as a Child Development worker or Children’s Services Manager.

Entry Requirements

You must hold the Certificate III in Children’s Services before undertaking your Diploma of Children’s Service’s, and have a good understanding of the English language and sound numeracy skills are preferred.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL is offered to any Learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within the Diploma of Children’s Services CHC50908 qualification. During the enrolment process a potential Learner may complete a checklist and discuss any prior evidence before commencing training to determine if they are eligible for RPL.

Training Schedule

The most popular method of delivery for the Diploma of Children’s Services is through via distance and/or Online Learning in the form of self-paced learning.  This is because while you are undertaking the theory at home, you are also able to complete your practical at the same time at a childcare centre, allowing you to apply the new skills you are learning as you learn them.

You will have 24 months to complete your Diploma of Children’s Services course from your enrolment date.  We have a continual intake of students on this basis throughout the year.
