What Will you Learn?

Our Certificate IV in Bookkeeping training is designed to teach you all facets of bookkeeping practices.

You will learn how to establish and maintain both cash and accrual accounting systems, carry out Business Activity and Instalment Activity Statement tasks, establish a payroll system, prepare financial statements, and how to maintain asset and inventory records.

Additionally, you will develop a broad range of general bookkeeping and financial industry competencies including applying principles and professional practice, customer service, good communication skills, technology, as well as good health and safety practices.

Course outline & structure

Inspire provides FNS40207—The Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) course which comprises of 13 units – 4 industry core units, 7 sectoral core units, plus 2 elective units.

It is a nationally recognised qualification suitable for anyone who is operating or wishing to operate in a bookkeeping capacity, including those working as contractor bookkeepers, employees performing the role of a bookkeeper in an organisation, as well as individuals wishing to receive training to be able to undertake a bookkeeping role to move up in their present organisation, or if seeking new employment.

Prerequisites

The Cert IV in Bookkeeping requires that you have completed a Cert III in Financial Services OR have some industry experience. It also requires that you have sound language and literacy skills, and basic computer skills preferably with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Obviously many students undertake the Certificate IV in Bookkeeping to formalise their working
