The Cert III
in Aged Care
is comprised
of 10 core
units, and 4
electives.
It is
Australia’s
nationally
recognised
and
accredited
qualification
in aged
care, and is
designed for
those
interested
in becoming
a community
support
worker,
field
officer,
nursing
assistant,
care worker,
and
disability
service
officer.
During
the course
of your
studies you
will
complete at
least 80
hours
workplace-based
experience
to solidify
your
practical
experience
and skills
in working
with aged
persons.
This course
has been
specifically
designed to
develop the
knowledge
and skills
required to
work safely
and
effectively
with aged
individuals,
providing an
opportunity
for those
with a
passion for
our helping
and
community
care to take
a leading

Entry
Requirements
There are no
formal
prerequisites
for this
qualification,
however it
is
recommended
that
students are
17 years of
age or
older, and
have a sound
level in
English and
Maths.
Students are
required to
have the
ability to
read and
write simple
documents,
and collect
basic
numeral
data. A
senior First
Aid
Certificate
is
recommended.
Recognition
of Prior
Learning
(RPL)
RPL is
offered to
any Learner
who can
provide
evidence of
competency
for the
units
offered
within the
qualification.
During
the
enrolment
process a
potential
Learner may
complete a
checklist
and discuss
any prior
evidence
before
commencing
training to
determine if
they are
eligible for
RPL.
